Experimental Verification of Robust PID Controller Under Feedforward Framework for a Nonminimum Phase DC–DC Boost Converter

This article addresses the disturbance rejection problem of a nonminimum phase dc-dc boost converter operating in continuous conduction mode (CCM) using novel robust proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller design method. The proposed idea is to equivalent feedforward formulation modified direct synthesis (MDS) approach. advantages MDS are: 1) systematic incorporation dynamics and explicitly reduce complex tuning effort parameters; 2) allowing operate close performance limit set by zero right half-plane (RHP); 3) closed-loop specifications can be incorporated into desired loop response only single parameter based on Bode's gain crossover frequency inequality; 4) attenuates improve rejection; 5) realization requires output voltage as feedback signal. strength method compared with internal model control (IMC) both simulations experiments. Based these responses, PID ensures model-plant mismatch allows quickly recover back presence external disturbances less inductor current.
